Room to Read is an international literacy initiative that the New Orleans Alumni Chapter proudly supports as part of Kappa Alpha Psi’s ongoing commitment to academic achievement. Focused on early education and girls’ empowerment, Room to Read promotes access to high-quality books, builds literacy skills, and helps create a culture of reading in underserved communities around the world. By aligning with this mission, our chapter uplifts the value of education as a transformative force for children of all backgrounds.
Through fundraising, awareness campaigns, and chapter-led reading engagements, we support the expansion of educational access—especially in areas where resources are limited. Our participation in Room to Read reflects our belief that literacy opens doors to lifelong opportunity and empowerment. Whether encouraging young readers locally or making a global impact, we stand firm in the idea that knowledge is the key to freedom. As Men of Achievement, we use our platform to foster growth, equity, and the pursuit of learning.
